Gymshark Dupe Leggings

PRODUCT REVIEW: AliExpress dupe of Gymshark Energy+ Seamless Leggings

I really like the look of the Gymshark Energy+ Seamless Leggings {Link 1} – sleek and simple, with lovely eyelet and ribbed details to make them look chic and flattering. They’re seamless, so should be pretty comfy, and with a super-high waist, they look like they shouldn’t roll down during even during crunches.

At £45 a pop, I thought I’d try to find a look at a cheaper alternative, and found these Seamless High Waisted Leggings by Misswho Outdoor Store on AliExpress {Link 2}. They use Gymshark’s promo pictures, so I scrolled down to the customer reviews and photos for a better idea of the actual product. It all looked really positive, so I thought I’d give them a go.

AliExpress’s Seamless High Waisted Leggings in Slate Lavender, Steel Blue and Dusky Pink

The basics

AliExpress offers the same eight colour-ways as Gymshark, and I opted for (L-R) Slate Lavender, Steel Blue and Dusky Pink. As you can see from my picture above, the colours didn’t completely match the vividness of Gymshark’s, but they were true to the colours shown in the “real photo” section of the AliExpress copies, so I was pretty pleased that I’d got what I ordered.

Price-wise, they worked out at only £5.44 each when converted from US dollars, with free shipping – an absolute bargain! They took about a month to arrive, which is what I’d usually expect from a product shipped from China.

The fit

The Gymshark version promises a “super high waist fit” and “glute contouring”, and AliExpress’s copy was impressively spot-on. The height of the waist certainly did not disappoint, and they were a beautifully flattering fit. I was also pleased that the sizes were as described online, so there’s minimal chance of having to return for a different size.

The only difference I did notice was that the eyelet detailing wasn’t as prominent on the AliExpress version. It still looked sleek and stylish, but the material didn’t stretch quite as much as the Gymshark designs online, especially round the ankle, so some of the holes remained pretty closed. But the shape

of the design still worked to provide flattering contouring and a chic effect, and I wonder how much Gymshark’s eyelets would perfectly match their pictures either.

The test

I gave these a proper workout to test for all the usual legging pitfalls – rolling, overstretching or, of course, becoming see-through! But I was pleased to say that the AliExpress versions surpassed my expectations, and even lived up to the Gymshark reviews. The material was thick enough to pass my rigorous squat testing, but still comfy and breathable. The material still fit beautifully after being put through its paces – no pesky wrinkling or bunching, and no need to take breaks to hoick them up!

The verdict

I was over the moon with my decision to purchase the AliExpress copies, and they looked and behaved exactly how I would’ve expected Gymshark’s own. But with AliExpress I saved almost £40 per pair – a whopping £118.68 saving in total for three pairs! They’re flattering and comfortable, and the fact that they looked so good made me feel good at the gym too. A massive thumbs up from me!
